Based on the standing policy of the Church of Nigeria, the Crowther Graduate Theological Seminary, Abeokuta trains Postulants from all the recognized Anglican Theological Colleges primarily on the three major Nigerian Languages, as part of the Bachelor of Theology (B.Th) Ordination programme.
After teaching and due examinations, each student is posted to a Mission field located in a language area other than that spoken by them. The aim of acculturation is for Postulants to interact with indigenous speakers in order to gain practical acquisition of the languages learned in the class. It is also for them to interact with communities in different parts of the Communion. The interaction of Postulants from all theological Institutions will forge unity, cultural exposure and mutual understanding among them as future leaders of the church.
Acculturation period is for four months in language area, Postulants are attached to Churches where services are conducted in the Local Languages. The exercise this year is from Tuesday 2nd May – Wednesday 23rd August, 2017. Click and download the ACCULTURATION LIST & ASSESSMENT FORM
