In CGTS, the philosophy of postgraduate programmes is to train and develop scholars who will be concerned with the critical study of the religious and cultural life in all its facets in Africa. Opportunities are created for a wide academic exposure, in-depth understanding, and critical appreciation of Christian theological education with emphasis on relevance to contemporary society.
The CGTS shall be a centre of research and critical scholarship on theological issues both globally and locally. It shall train and produce scholars from different parts of the world who shall become incubating force for theological research, teaching and publications, making it a potent African theological voice in the global arena.
It shall re-train Bishops, Clergy and Laity of the churches towards building manpower capacity that would make the church relevant to the challenges of contemporary societies and times.
